This holiday season help local children in need
“I wrote a letter to Campaign for Kids on behalf of a Kings County family who was in a crisis situation. The family has three preschool children with developmental delays who attend a number of community services to help support their needs. The family car was in need of a major repair which was beyond their budget. The time required for the family to save for this expense would have jeopardized their placement at Speech Therapy and at the Child Care Facility they go to.
I am so happy to report that the money was received only days after writing the letter to Campaign for Kids. The repair was completed within a week on the car and all services are securely in place again.
The family has also been able to start other services including a 6 week parent program offered by Valley Child Development Association.
For this rural family this assistance has provided them with the ability to continue attending the programs that will help their children’s development.
On behalf of the family and Valley Child Development Association we want to express our heartfelt gratitude.”

This Christmas, you can continue to make a difference in a child’s life through Campaign for Kids, a local charity devoted to supporting disadvantaged children and youth living in Kings County.
During the last 5 years, Campaign for Kids has distributed over $91,000, which is about $18300 annually, to kids in need in Kings County.
Most of the money raised is funneled into local elementary and middle schools through our principals fund. Local schools are encouraged to spend up to $800 per year on individual students and their families.
Generous community support allows the foundation to fund emergency requests to help families who struggle to provide basic, daily necessities such as food, shelter and medical and personal items, like the family mentioned above.
We provide funds to every elementary and middle school to spend on families in need and two $1000 bursaries to each of our local high schools. These bursaries are based on financial need and provide help for post secondary education.
Campaign for Kids prides itself on keeping all monies raised exclusively in Kings County, benefiting children in our own community. The foundation holds its administrative expenses to a minimum, relying on a network of dedicated volunteers, all of whom share a passion for improving the lives of disadvantaged children and youth.
No matter which you choose, your donation will stay in Kings County to benefit children, youth and families most in need.
On behalf of the board of directors of the Campaign for Kids foundation, I thank you for your continued and generous support and wish your family a safe and happy holiday season.
Sincerely
Ann Marsters
Chairman, Campaign For Kids
